How to Enable Group Activity Feeds in BuddyBoss Platform

Introduction

Group Activity Feeds in BuddyBoss allow members to share posts, updates, and announcements within their groups. This feature enhances community interaction by enabling group members to communicate and engage in discussions directly on the group’s feed. 

Step-by-Step Procedure

Step 1: Enable Activity Feeds

  1. Navigate to BuddyBoss – Components from your Dashboard.
  2. Locate Activity Feeds and click the Activate button.

Step 2: Post in Group Activity Feeds

Once Activity Feeds are activated, members can post updates in any group they belong to.

  1. Navigate to the Groups Page and select the group where you want to post.
  2. In the Feed section, click on the Post Box to create a new post.

  1. Write your post in the text box.
  2. Click on the Post button to publish the update.
  1. The post will immediately appear in the Group Feed, visible to all group members.

Step 3: Check Post Visibility on Timelines

After posting in the group feed:

  1. Navigate to your Profile Timeline.
  2. You will see the group post also displayed on your timeline.

Step 4: Verify Post on Site-Wide Activity Feed

BuddyBoss automatically shares group posts to the Site-Wide Activity Feed for better community visibility.

  1. Navigate to Activity Feed on your membership site.
  2. Confirm that the post you created within the group is displayed on the site-wide activity feed.

Hidden Group Exception:

  • If the post is made within a Hidden Group, it will not appear in the site-wide activity feed.

Q: Why can’t members post in the group feed?
A: Ensure that Activity Feeds is activated under BuddyBoss – Components

Q: Why isn’t the group post visible on the Site-Wide Activity Feed?
A: Check the group’s privacy settings. Posts from Hidden Groups are not displayed on the site-wide feed for privacy reasons.
