How to Allow Group Messages on BuddyBoss Platform

Introduction

Group Messages in BuddyBoss enable members to communicate within groups, enhancing community interaction and collaboration. These feature provide streamlined communication within groups, helping members stay connected and engaged.

Step-by-Step Procedure

Step 1: Enable Group Messages

Before members can send messages within groups, you need to enable the Group Messages feature.

1. Navigate to BuddyBoss – Settings – Groups from your Dashboard.
2. Scroll down to find the Group Messages option.
3. Tick the box to Allow Group Messages.

4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Settings to confirm.

Step 2: Send a Group Message

Once Group Messages are enabled, members can send messages to all group members at once.

1. Navigate to the Groups Page and select the group you want to send a message to.
2. Click on the Send Messages option within the group.

3. Select Group Message:
   • Write your message in the text box.
4. Click Send to deliver the message to all group members.

Step 3: Send a Private Message

BuddyBoss allows you to send private messages to individual group members.

1. In the Send Messages menu, select Private Message.
2. Choose the member you want to message from the group member list.
3. Write your private message and click Send.

4. The message will be sent individually to the selected member’s inbox.

3. Switch to Create New Thread and try sending a message.
   • Note: Create New Thread requires selecting specific members; you cannot send to all members at once.

Test the Setting:

• Log in as a recipient and check the inbox.
• Individual Messages appear as separate conversations.
• New Thread Messages appear as a group conversation where members can reply in the same thread.
