How to Configure Group Settings in BuddyBoss Platform

Step-by-Step Procedure

Step 1: Activate Social Groups

To start using social groups, you need to activate the Social Groups component.

  1. Go to BuddyBoss > Components from your Dashboard.
  2. Locate Social Groups and click the Activate button.

  1. Once activated, you will see a Settings button under Social Groups.
  2. Click on Settings to navigate to the Group Settings section.

Step 2: Enable Group Creation

  1. In the Group Settings section, tick the box for Enable Group Creation.
  1. Click Save Settings to apply the changes.

Step 3: Enable Group Messaging

Group Messaging allows members to communicate within groups, enhancing collaboration.

  1. Navigate to the Group Settings section, tick the box for Group Messages.
  1. Click Save Settings to activate the feature.

Step 4: Enable Group Subscriptions

Group Subscriptions allow members to receive notifications about group activity, keeping them engaged and informed.

  1. In the Group Settings section, tick the box for Subscriptions.
    • This enables members to subscribe to group notifications.
  1. Click Save Settings to confirm.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why don’t I see the Create a Group option?
A: Ensure that Group Creation is enabled in BuddyBoss – Settings – Social Groups. If disabled, only admins can create groups.

Q: Why can’t members send group messages?
A: Make sure the Group Messages option is checked and saved. Also, confirm that messaging is enabled in BuddyBoss – Settings – Messages.
