Customizing Group Images in BuddyBoss enhances your community’s branding and visual appeal. You can set default group avatars and cover images using Gravatar, BuddyBoss avatars, or a Custom Image.
Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1: Select Group Avatars
- Navigate to BuddyBoss > Settings > Groups from your Dashboard.
- Scroll down to the Group Images section.
- Enable Group Avatars by ticking the checkbox.
- Choose from the following avatar options:
Step 2: Select Group Cover Images
Group Cover Images appear at the top of each group’s page, enhancing its visual appeal.
- In the Group Images section, Enable Group Cover Images by ticking the checkbox.
- Choose from the following cover image options:
- None – No default cover image is shown.
- BuddyBoss Default – Uses the BuddyBoss default cover image style.
- Custom Image – Upload your own image as the default cover for groups.
- Adjust Cover Image Sizes:
- You can customize the dimensions of the cover image for optimal display.
- Click Save Settings to confirm the changes.
Test the Setting:
- Enable Group Cover Images: Go to the Groups page and see the selected cover image displayed for groups without custom covers.
- Disable Group Cover Images: Uncheck the option and Save Settings. The cover image will disappear.
Step 3: Customize Cover Image Background Color
You can change the background color of the group cover images to better match your brand identity.
- In the Group Images section, click on Theme Options under the preview section.
- Locate the Cover Image Background Color setting.
- Select a color that complements your brand’s palette.
- Click Save Changes to apply the background color.
Step 4: Preview Cover Images in Browser and App
BuddyBoss allows you to preview changes for both the browser version and the BuddyBoss App.
- Browser Preview:
- After configuring the cover image and background color, reload the frontend of the Groups page to see the changes in the browser.
- App Preview:
- Under the preview section, click on Color.
- This navigates to App Color Settings.
- Adjust the Cover Image Background Color for the app.
- Under the preview section, click on Color.
- Click Save Changes and reload the frontend of the Groups page to view the updates in the app.
Step 5: Customize Avatars and Cover Images
- In the Group Images section, select Custom under Group Avatars or Group Cover Images.
- Click the Upload button to add your desired picture.
- Click Save Settings to apply the custom image.
Step 6: Legacy Avatars and No Cover Image
If you prefer a simpler look, you can select:
- Legacy Avatar – Uses the old-style BuddyBoss avatars.
- No Cover Image – Disables cover images entirely.
- In the Group Images section:
- Select Legacy Avatar under Group Avatars.
- Set Group Cover Image to None.
- Click Save Settings.
- Reload the frontend to see the simpler layout without cover images.
