Introduction

Enabling video uploading allows members to share videos within your online community, enhancing engagement and interaction. With the BuddyBoss Platform, users can upload videos, organize them into albums, and share them in Activity, Profiles, Groups, Messages, and Forums. This guide walks you through enabling and configuring video uploads for your community.

Note: Web browsers have limited support for the H.265/HEVC codec for video previews. To ensure compatibility, use .mp4 format for uploaded videos.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Enable Video Uploading

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > BuddyBoss > Settings.
  2. Click on the Media tab.
  3. Toggle Enable Video Uploading to ON.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Configure Upload Permissions

  1. Under Media Settings, locate the User Upload Permissions section.
  2. Select which user roles can upload videos (e.g., Members, Moderators, Administrators).
  3. Click Save Changes.

Step 3: Set Video Upload Limits

  1. In the Media Settings panel, adjust the Maximum Upload Size to define the maximum file size allowed per video.
  2. Specify the Maximum Number of Videos Per Upload to control batch uploads.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Step 4: Enable Video Albums for Organization

  1. Scroll to the Albums section in Media Settings.
  2. Toggle Enable Video Albums to ON.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Step 5: Test the Upload Feature

  1. Go to the front end of your site and navigate to an activity post, group, or private message.
  2. Click the Attach Video button.
  3. Select an .mp4 video file and upload it.
