Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access the Media Settings
- Go to the WordPress Dashboard.
- Navigate to the BuddyBoss Settings and click on the Media link
Step 2: Enter Your GIPHY API Key
- Input your GIPHY API key into the designated field. This key connects your platform to the GIPHY service, enabling the search and insertion of animated GIFs.
Step 3: Activate the Animated GIFs Settings
- For Profiles, click the checkbox “Allow members to use animated GIFs in profile activity posts”
- For Groups, click the checkbox “Allow members to use animated GIFs in groups, activity posts, messages and forums”
- For Messages, click the checkbox “Allow members to use animated GIFs in private messages”
- For Forums, click the checkbox “Allow members to use animated GIFs in forum discussions and replies”
Step 4: Save Your Changes
- Click the Save Changes button to apply your new settings.
Step 5: Test the Feature
- Create a test post or message and use the GIF search function to add an animated GIF. Verify that the GIF displays correctly and the functionality meets your expectations.

Q: I do not see the Animated GIFs section in the Settings panel.
A: Ensure that you are running the latest version of the BuddyBoss Platform and that your account has the required administrative permissions. If the section is still missing, check for any pending platform updates.

A: Confirm that your GIPHY API key is correctly entered and active. Additionally, verify that there are no network issues preventing access to the GIPHY service.
