Tab Bar Icon Pack

The Tab Bar and More Menu in the BuddyBoss App provide essential navigation for your community users. With recent updates, BuddyBoss has introduced a new icon pack, improving the visual experience and resolving previous icon display issues.

This guide will walk you through configuring the Tab Bar and More Menu, selecting icons from the updated BuddyBoss Icon Pack, and switching between the new and legacy icons.

How to Configure the Tab Bar and More Menu

Step 1: Access the Tab Bar Settings

1. Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Go to BuddyBoss App > Menus.
3. Locate the Tab Bar section.

Step 2: Customize Tab Bar Menu Options

1. The Tab Bar allows up to four menu items, with a fifth slot reserved for the More Menu.
   • Default options include Activity, Home, Blog, and Groups.
   • The More Menu is fixed and cannot be replaced with another option.
2. To customize a menu option, click the dropdown arrow next to the menu item (e.g., “Activity”).

Step 3: Select and Update Icons

1. Locate the Item Icon setting for the selected menu option.
2. Click on it to open the icon selection panel.
3. Choose an icon from the updated BuddyBoss Icon Pack, which now aligns with the platform’s default icons.
4. In the Preview section, adjust the Icon Settings, including:
   • Icon Style (Filled, Outline, etc.)
   • Box Style (Circular, Square)
   • Icon Color
5. Click Select Icon to save your selection.

Step 4: Preview and Save Changes

1. Once an icon is selected, the display preview model on the right side of the page will update.
2. Click Save Changes to apply your selections.
3. The new icons will be automatically updated on users’ mobile Tab Bar and More Menu the next time they launch the app.

Using the Legacy Icon Pack

If you prefer the older icons, now referred to as Legacy Icons, you can switch back by:

1. Opening the Item Icon settings.
2. Selecting Legacy from the dropdown instead of BuddyBoss.
3. Saving your changes.

Note: You can mix both Legacy Icons and the new BuddyBoss Icon Pack within the same Tab Bar.

The updated BuddyBoss Icon Pack introduces several enhancements:

• Bold Filled Style for Active Tabs – Selected menu items now appear bold, making navigation clearer.

• Improved Performance – Backend optimizations ensure faster icon loading compared to the previous legacy icons.
